چکیده

Thin-walled parts are commonly used in the aerospace sector. However, there serious machining challenges, such as deflection, deformation and vibration. The final thin-walled component will deteriorate dimensional accuracy surface quality. This is due to vibration that occurs during flexible milling of structures since workpiece rigidity lower than cutting forces cutter. gradual reduction thin-wall thickness end process results significant deflections deformations its low stiffness. In recent years, different approaches have been deal with these challenges. paper presents a new technique for great accuracy, excellent flatness straightness properties, good productivity. authors developed using simultaneous double-sided cutter milling, which synchronized vertical double finishes machines both surfaces simultaneously. produces thrust on walls, each force cancels out other. rotation machine spindle transmitted cutters by an in-house double-axis adapter. Surface errors minimized, properties significantly improved, deflection can be neglected, shown our results. thin wall finished only one pass, 50% time achieved. addition, ?atness improved about two three times, compared conventional procedure.

Thin-Wall Calculation for Layered Manufacturing

We describe a new algorithm for making partially hollow layered parts with thin, dense walls of approximately uniform thickness, for faster build times and reduced material usage. We have implemented our algorithm and tested its output on a fused deposition modeling (FDM) machine, using separate build volumes for a loosely filled interior and a thin, solid, exterior wall. The build volumes are ...

Right-sided double-lumen tubes: need for design improvement and better insertion technique?

To the Editor: Sazak et al. (1) recently published a randomized study comparing 2 right-sided double-lumen tubes (R-DLTs) from different manufacturers. Assessing R-DLTs’ positions by bronchoscopy, they showed a 40% to 50% nonoptimal placement in the supine position and a 30% to 35% nonoptimal placement following turning the patient in lateral decubitus without any statistically significant diff...

Cutter Path Generation For 2.5D Milling By Combining Multiple Different Cutter Path Patterns

Different cutter path patterns have been shown to be efficient for different types of pocket geometries. However, for certain types of complex pockets, no single type of pattern produces efficient cutter paths throughout the pocket. In this paper, different cutter path patterns are systematically analysed and several existing heuristics for selecting cutter path patterns are discussed. Based on...

Experimental Study on Milling CFRP with Staggered PCD Cutter

Carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) have good physical properties, such as high specific strength and high specific modulus. However, cutting delamination, tearing and burr, etc. often occur in the machining process of CFRP, which results in the uncontrollability of machining surface quality and serious tool wear. In this paper, milling of CFRP with a staggered cutter was carried out, the c...
